Jacob and Morgan's Russian Feast

July 20, 2008

So, clearly, one of the perks of living in a large city is the availability of rare things - like Russian food.  In our early explorations of the city of Saint Francis we have located several Russian bakeries, restaurants and shops.  We visited one of the shops and we gathered a cake-roll, Russian ketchup, plov (an Uzbek rice dish), vareniki (dumplings stuffed with potato) and pelmini (dumplings stuffed with meat) - all staples of my diet when I was on my mission in Russia.  It brought back fond memories of food that could turn your stomach inside-out, but was very delicious.
