Sorry it's been a while since a new post. A lot has happened but I have been to lazy to write about it. I'm blaming it on being tired after working retail during this crazy holiday season.
We are now in New Mexico with Jacob's family. We flew last night and got to witness all the grumpy people trying to get to Seattle. Some of them had been waiting for FOUR days!!! I would love to post about my brother coming into San Francisco to visit and Jacob and I celebrating our anniversary early but I left my computer in California. Be expecting a lot of posts in about two weeks.
Until then have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

December in San Fran
With the weather being sunny and just a bit chilly it's hard to remember that it is December. To help us get in the Christmas spirit last weekend we went to Union Square. For those of you not familiar with union square it's where all the big department stores are. For example, Macys, H&M,Saks Fifth Ave, and Tiffany's, to name a few. While it would have been fun to shop at Tiffany's that is not why we went there. We went there to see the huge Christmas tree that is put up during the holidays and watch people ice skate on the temporary rink. We also decided to eat at the Cheesecake Factory which is on the top floor of Macy's allowing for us to overlook the square. It was a great evening and helped remind us that Christmas is just around the corner.

Happy Merry Early Christmas!!!
That is what my adorable niece riley kept shouting during this thanksgiving break.
Last wednesday after Jacob finished up his class we flew home to my parents in Washington. IT was a much needed break. My whole family was there and I was surprised how much we packed into the long weekend. We had a wonderful thanksgiving feast folloed by all of us putting up Christmas decorations. SInce all of us kids are heading to our spouses' parents for Christmas my mom and dad decided we'd celebrate it early with them. After all the decorations were up we watched all family videos and had a good laugh at my mullet, steven and his friends willing jumping into a wall, and michael having a sweet bowling pose at such a young age.
Early christmas was fantastic and it really did seem like Christmas. WE had to keep reminding ourselves that no one else was celebrating it at this time.
Other things we did were take family pictures and watch movies. We saw Australia, which was good but not as good as I was hoping (Far and Away was much better if you ask me). I also saw Twilight. I say I because Jacob opted to stay home and do homework for this outing. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. I thought I'd go crazy making fun of it and the terrible acting. While there were really corny parts i was impressed. Edward did a way better job then I expected him to. The person who played bella sucked in my opinion. I didn't like her acting, but then I again I thought they really should have picked Alexis Bledel (rory, from Gilmore Girls).
Overall Thanksgiving break was a success!
Rily preparing the turkey
some intense faces during rockband. Even Emma is focused
Decorating the tree in record time
Riley's first Barbie curtesy of steven and meredith
The after math of early christmas
I love meredith in this one
A normal family photo
Me and my Brothers, Michael and Steven
No spouses
I love my brothers
They wanted a redo since last time they tried this on me they broke my collarbone. Aren't I trusting?
What a stud Jacob is.

Books
Anybody out there like to read but hate trying to find a good book?
Well, I joined a friend in this book giving chainletter thing. The gist is you mail a book to one person then mail six letters out to friends. If everyone follows the letter you should recieve several free books. I am trying to find six people who are interested in this deal which requires little work (you only have to give out one book). So if you are at all interested let me know!

Counting
After getting married something changed...my wieght. I blame it on the fact that before getting married jacob and I had about six sessions with a personal trainer and lost wieght. After the honeymoon I put on the wieght I lost and then some. Growing up I never really had to worry about my wieght, i had a fast metobolism and took it for granted. Now I am realizing that what I shove into my face actually does matter.
(if you haven't seen supesize me I recommend it. It's pretty interesting)
So you are probably thinking, so what, go out and exercise. I know I should but I lack motivation. Even with a gym just 6 floors below me I can't seem to walk to the elevator ( I don't even need to walk down stairs) cross the lobby and enter the nice, free gym. WHAT"S WRONG WITH ME!?!?!
Well, I am proud to say that I might have found the motivation I need (besides my clothes all getting tighter). It's an online program that counts calories for you. Not only does it count the calories you eat but it also counts the claories you burn! You enter you info, like wieght and different body measurements, and then keep a dialy journal of what you eat and do. There is also a tool that will calculate how many calories a person should consume at a particular height, age, and weight in order to maintain, lose, or gain pounds.
Right now I haven't changed my eating habits. I want to see what I usually consume and set a realistic calorie amount. If you want to be super nit picky they have activities like doing laundry, carrying a child, and sleeping so you can really know how much you are burning. I am hoping that seeing how much I consume to how much I burn will get me to make that trip to the gym!
Oh yeah here's the website
Sign-up is free but they might sent you junk mail so make a fake e-mail and give them that adress.

Happy Halloween/birthday!!!
Sorry it's been a while since we've posted, our camera's broken and what's a post without pictures?
For Halloween Jacob and I dressed up and went to some friends party before heading over to the dental school party. While planning the the dental school party it went from being kid friendly, kids not recommended, to kids not allowed. It was an interesting experience but lets just say we probably won't be going next year lol. Jacob was sooooo hot in his costume so we tried to find him some water. All there were was alcohol vendors. In other words all the free vodka and beer you could want but no water. So, After saying hi to everyone and showing off our costumes we headed home and called it a night.
I was a jogger and Jacob was my dog. He was on a leash and I had the doggie bag for his poo. We walked around our neighborhood and everyone loved him. The kids wanted to give him high fives.
This is part of Jacob's row at dental school.
For my birthday Jacob got us Salsa dancing lessons! This was a complete shock for me because we had agreed not to get each other gifts. I am sooo excited for our first class tomorrow!
I now feel like I really dropped the ball for Jacob's big day (today). So in order to make it up to him I will let everyone know just why I married this great guy.
1- He always surprises me. This is evident is several instances. The most obvious being the salsa lessons. However, that is only one case. Another great example is a piece of jewelry he made for me. In class all the dental students got to make a piece of jewelry. While all the other husbands were making cute pieces like their wife's first initial Jacob had another idea. He made a sterling silver mold of his fingertip! I couldn't stop laughing when he gave it to me. So not only does he surprise me
2- He is creative. He is always coming up with different ideas. I love this especially when he cooks. You know it will be some tasty, creative treat.
3-Jacob is talented. This is evident through his musical skills. I am seriously lacking when it comes to musical talents but Jacob can sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. When he proposed to me he had made up a song about us and sang it to me while he played the guitar. He then surprised me at our wedding luncheon by singing a new rendition of the song in front of everyone (it really impressed my family).
4-He is caring/loving. Jacob is one of the sweetest guys I know. Whenever I get sick he makes me some incredible soup or borsch, gets me any medicine I need, and puts up with my complaining. I have never had a guy treat me as great as Jacob does. He also is great with kids. All his nieces and nephews love him. I know that whenver we decide to have children he will be a top notch dad.
5- He is smart. Hello he made it into dental school! Not only that but he tends to become involved with things that take him away from school, causing him to have to play catch up, and still get good grades. We took a physiology class together at BYU and during it we went to Russia to do service work causing him to miss around 2 weeks of school. We got the same grades even with him missing a whole section of lectures!
I really could go on and on but Then this post would be unreadable to anyone but me or Jacob.
So happy 26th Birthday Jacob! I love You!

VOTE
So at the GAP they gave us shirts to wear on Thursday and Nov. 4th that say "vote for_______." It's our job to write something on our shirts. It can't be anything crude or violent or actually endorsing a political candidate. So with all these limitations, I just don't know what to put. Any recommendations.
Some examples are,
"vote for love"
"vote for peace"
"vote for education"

Boo!
Some people say that Christmas is the best time of the year...I disagree. I love Halloween and October. All the leaves are changing color and the air has that cold, crisp feel. I love the decorations on houses and lawns. On Fillmore street the trees are lit with purple and orange lights creating a fun halloweeny feel.
I also love pumpkins. Whether it be pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin seeds they all are great! And who doesn't love carving that big orange plant into a Jack-o-Lantern? Sticking your hands into the gooey inside is fun for all ages.
Another great aspect of October is seeing all the cute/creative costumes. I love to see the little kids dress up as animals, princesses, and ghouls. It's so fun to be something different for a day. With dressing up comes all the candy! Only on Halloween are kids allowed to get a pillowcase full of yummy treats. As a kid I would go home and organize all my candy. I was sure to hide all the good stuff (like Reese's peanut but cups or Laffy Taffys) under the not so hot candy (like bubble yum or those nasty orange puffy peanuts). I did this in hopes my brothers would not take my good stuff
.
(these are my nieces. I stole the pictures from my sister in-laws blog)
I'm sure some of you are thinking, "wait Morgan, you just like Halloween because it's your birthday." While it is true that I was born on this fabulous day, therefore not only do a I get showered with candy but also gifts, it is not the only reason. I believe this holiday helps us all remember how fun it was to be a kid. We remember how we thought we could be anything and we could also eat anything and not really regret it later.
So here's to Halloween, the best holiday ever!

First Quarter Break
Jacob finished his first quarter at dental school last friday and got a week off. We tried to cram that week full of great times. On friday night Jacob's dad flew into town. The next morning Jacob took us to his school where he let his dad try his hand at drilling a cavity.
We then headed to the huge farmers market town by the pier. It was sooo much fun. They have pictures, clothes, and a ton of fruit and vegtables. Jacob made us get a Pluot (a cross between a plum and a apricot) and it was delicous.
That night we went to a San Francisco Giants game. They played LA Dodgers and it was close but we lost. The Stadium was really cool, overlooking the bay and all. It was tricky finding parking so we parked in a iffy spot. when we got to our car after the game, what did we find? A $60 ticket!!!
On Sunday we went to church and then headed over to Marin to go to Muir woods. IT was beautiful there and luckily free! The sad thing is I put my water bottle in my purse where it leaked all over. My camera was in there making it nonfunctional. From here on out the post will be picture less untill I can get some from my father-in-laws camera.
On Monday, Jacob, Darell, and Rad wanted to go surfing. When we drove out to the beach the water was flat. Not to be discouraged the boys decided to rent a kayak. Me, Laura (rad's wife) and her baby Jack stayed on the beach and chit chatted. When they got back they told how they fliped the kayak like three times! Too bad we couldn't see that.
On Tuesday We flew to San Diego with Jacob's dad. We met his mom at the airport then headed to his sister Kristen's new home. She just had a baby andwas in the process of moving so we spent the next couple of days painting there house. Jacob did get a chance at attempting to surf while in San Diego.
When we got back into San Francisco Jacob and I went to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. It was a free concert festival at the Golden Gate Park. We saw Ben Kweller perform and then got to talk to him for a bit and got him to sign my shirt. We also saw the group who sang "Woody's Roundup" for Toy Story 2 perform and a Russian group called Gogol Bodella.
Overall the break was terrific! Tomorrow Jacob goes back to school and I start work for real.

Fall into the Gap
I found a job!!! Ok I really didn't find it but Liz, another dental school wife, hooked me up. Firday was my first day and they didn't have time to give me an orientation so they just had me in the kids section. I folded clothes, greeted customers, and at the end of the day helped take down mannequins. I won't start officialy until october 7th. It's not the most thought provoking job but it gets me out of my house, I get paid, and I get a sweet discount. Thanks Liz!

Dodge, duck, dip, and Dodge again
Last night Jacob's school had the Great Dugoni Dodgeball Tourny. It was held at our LDS ward building and let's just say it was an interesting night. I never thought I would here 'Gangsta's Paradise' and "Whoop there it is" in the church building. I also never thought I would see this at a church building
It reminded us of Never Nudes (If you don't know what this means I'm willing to help direct you to the funniest tv series there is)
The night really was fun though and the music did add a lot. Each class had about two teams and it came down to the first years vs. the third years. Who won you ask? The FIRST year's of course.
Watching the action. They also provided Subway sandwiches, cookies, and tons of Gatorade
The first year group
Victory!!!
